Two Passengers Apprehended for Attempting to Travel Abroad Using Counterfeit Documents.

LAHORE: In two distinct incidents, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration apprehended two passengers at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, for attempting to travel abroad using counterfeit documents.

The spokesperson of FIA immigration has confirmed the apprehension of two passengers, identified as Ishban Murad and Ameer Hamza, along with two agents named Anwar and Yousuf Baig. These individuals are allegedly involved in the provision of fake employment visas for Mauritius and counterfeit residence permits to the detained passengers.

According to the spokesperson, Ishban Murad was arrested at the immigration counter while attempting to board flight TK715 bound for abroad. Upon inspection, his Mauritius passport was found to be forged, bearing a counterfeit stamp. Initial investigations indicated that Murad obtained the visa through agent Yousuf Baig for a sum of Rs 2 million. Subsequently, the agent was apprehended from the airport premises upon identification by the passenger. FIA branches in Faisalabad and Gujranwala have also initiated cases against the agent.

In a separate operation, passenger Amir Hamza was detained while trying to board flight PA-410 to Dubai. Upon suspicion, a search of his belongings led to the discovery of a forged Italian passport with counterfeit stamps, along with a fake Spain resident card.

Both suspects have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore for further legal proceedings.
