Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope have been selected for top-order positions. The West Indies squad boasts a lineup of formidable hitters and all-rounders, including Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd.
In the spin-bowling department, Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie will play pivotal roles, while vice-captain Alzarri Joseph will spearhead the pace attack alongside Shamar Joseph.

Director of West Indies Cricket, Desmond Haynes, emphasized that the selection committee extensively deliberated on the batting lineup, emphasizing the importance of designated roles.
“Our focus has always been on roles – roles that we want people to play. The situation of someone like Shamar Joseph, you really can’t question someone like him, we saw him in Australia. He ticked the boxes for us,” Haynes remarked.
As co-hosts of the tournament, West Indies finds themselves in Group C alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda.
