Karachi Weather: No Relief from Hot Conditions Continues

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted warm and muggy weather in Karachi for the next 24 hours within the city.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating hot and humid conditions in Karachi for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to range between 35°C and 36°C. Humidity levels are recorded at 58%.

According to PMD, Karachi will experience partly cloudy weather, with anticipated rainfall starting from July 8th. This follows the hottest night of July since 2021, recorded earlier this month. The unusual weather patterns are attributed to a low atmospheric pressure area over Indian Gujarat, significantly impacting Karachi’s climate.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has forecasted rainfall in several districts of Sindh, including Mithi, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, and Larkana, from July 4th to July 7th. Most parts of Sindh are expected to face hot and very humid weather conditions.

The weather dynamics are influenced by strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, anticipated to affect upper regions of Pakistan starting from July 3rd. Rain with wind and thundershowers is predicted in Kashmir until July 7th, with occasional breaks due to this weather system.

In Punjab, including Lahore and southern districts like Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah, rain and thundershowers are forecasted from July 2nd to July 7th.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Peshawar and surrounding districts, will also experience rainfall from July 3rd to July 7th, with possibilities of heavy to isolated very heavy falls intermittently.

These weather updates highlight the diverse climatic conditions across Pakistan during the monsoon season, underscoring the importance of preparedness and awareness among residents and travelers alike.
