Gold rates continue to decline in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 1,400 and was traded at Rs 239,600 on Friday, in contrast to its previous sale at Rs 241,000 on the last trading day.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 1,201 to Rs 205,418 from Rs 206,619, while the prices of 10 grams of 22 karat gold went down to Rs 188,300 from Rs 189,400, as reported by the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.

The price of per tola and ten grams of silver remained unchanged at Rs 2,620 and Rs 2,254.80 respectively. Internationally, the price of gold witnessed a decline of $11 to $2,297 from $2,308, according to the association’s report.

On a different note, Pakistan’s total foreign reserves reached $13,316 million, with the State Bank of Pakistan holding $8,006 million by the week ending on April 26, 2024. The SBP disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday that foreign reserves held by the central bank increased by $25 million to $8,006 million during the review week.

Meanwhile, commercial banks’ net foreign reserves were recorded at $5,310 million. In the preceding week, which ended on April 19, 2024, the country’s total liquid foreign reserves were $13,280.5 million, with the central bank holding $7,981.2 million, and commercial banks’ net reserves were $5,299.3 million.
