Minister emphasizes the importance of taking all requisite steps to address any unexpected disaster.

Federal Minister for Food Security, Rana Tanveer, has issued crucial directives to Pasco (Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation) to safeguard its reserves amidst the forecasted monsoon rains and potential floods. With monsoon showers already affecting various cities nationwide, Minister Tanveer emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures to mitigate any sudden calamities.

During a comprehensive review of food security measures, Minister Rana Tanveer underscored the necessity for swift action to protect Pasco’s wheat reserves. He instructed officials to prioritize effective strategies aimed at securing warehouses and ensuring the safety of stored commodities.

In light of the forecasted heavy rains, Minister Tanveer urged the formation of a coordinated strategy to shield all Pasco warehouses from potential water damage. Special emphasis was placed on safeguarding facilities located in low-lying areas, with instructions for coordinated teams to oversee these efforts under the supervision of designated center in-charges.

The directives come amidst ongoing efforts to bolster Pakistan’s food security infrastructure and readiness to respond to natural disasters effectively. Minister Rana Tanveer’s proactive approach highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring food availability and resilience against environmental challenges during the monsoon season.

These measures are essential not only to protect Pasco’s critical reserves but also to uphold national food security standards and reassure the public amidst weather-related uncertainties. By prioritizing preparedness and swift response, Pakistan aims to mitigate risks and safeguard agricultural assets crucial for sustaining the nation’s food supply chain.
