Federal Government Announces Salary and Pension Increases for Employees adjustment will take effect from July 1, 2024

The Ministry of Finance has made a significant announcement regarding salary and pension adjustments for federal government employees

The Ministry of Finance has made a significant announcement regarding salary and pension adjustments for federal government employees, aimed at providing substantial financial relief. Effective from July 1, 2024, employees in grades 1 to 16 will receive a 25% salary increase, while those in grades 17 to 22 will see a 20% raise in their basic pay.

In addition to salary increments, federal government retirees, including both civil and armed forces retirees, will benefit from a 15% increase in pensions. This increase will apply to retirees from July 1, 2024, onward and will be calculated on their net pension amount, excluding ad hoc relief.

It’s important to note that these adjustments will not affect house rent allowances for employees, and federal employees serving abroad will not receive the Ad Hoc Relief Allowance during their overseas tenure. However, they will become eligible for this allowance upon their return from international assignments or deputations.
