According to sources, a flight bound for Colombo from Dubai was compelled to make an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport Karachi when a female passenger suffered a heart attack mid-air. The pilot promptly requested permission from Air Traffic Control (ATC) for the emergency landing, which was granted without delay.
Tragically, upon medical examination after landing, it was determined that the passenger, identified as 57-year-old Paloni, had passed away due to the heart attack. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that the health officer issued the necessary death certificate before the plane, with the deceased passenger’s body, resumed its journey to Colombo.
This incident underscores the critical role of emergency response procedures during flights, ensuring passenger safety and swift medical assistance when needed.
